The well-travelled family asked for a dwelling centrally located and to receive a contemporary design that reflects their style and way of life. The existing dwelling has been altered to allow for an open living dining and kitchen area. The stoep receives a pergola frame and outdoor seating. The addition of a study is designed as a box protruding the parameters of the existing dwelling and a corner window frames the beautiful view of Cape Town. The roof is redesigned to allow for a view to Table Mountain and allow natural light to filter into the interior.

The cosmopolitan family, seasoned in their travels, sought a residence nestled in the heart of the city, adorned with a contemporary design that mirrors their unique style. Transforming the existing structure, the focus was on creating an interconnected living space consisting of the living, dining, and kitchen. Outside, the stoep was adorned with a pergola, offering a shaded retreat for outdoor seating and leisurely gatherings.
A notable addition to the dwelling was the thoughtfully crafted study, a sleek box jutting beyond the confines of the original structure. This architectural feature not only expands the living space but also provides a secluded sanctuary for work. Embracing the breathtaking vistas of Cape Town, a strategically placed corner window frames panoramic views, inviting the city’s natural beauty indoors.
The redesign of the roof was executed with meticulous attention to detail. Purposefully configured to offer unobstructed views of Table Mountain, the roof also facilitates the gentle filtration of natural light into the interior, fostering a bright and airy ambiance throughout the living spaces.
