We’re thrilled to share that our Ou Meul Bakery at Windmeul Kelder project has been recognised with Honours in the ‘Architecture’ category at the prestigious SA Steel Awards 2025.
This award celebrates excellence in architectural design, steel innovation, and engineering collaboration—values that lie at the heart of every project we undertake at Arch on Main Architects. Designing a Modern Landmark in the Winelands Set within the scenic Windmeul Kelder wine estate, the Ou Meul Bakery was envisioned as more than just a bakery—it’s a space where community, craft, and contemporary design meet.
The building showcases the versatility and strength of steel while maintaining a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects the spirit of the Winelands.
From its structural expression to the careful use of natural light and texture, every detail was considered to create a balance between industrial elegance and rural authenticity.
